In Loving Memory

Honoring Our
Beloved Founder

Ignite Impact Foundation stands as a tribute to the life, strength, and vision of Hallie Mae Colquhoun — a young woman whose compassion and determination lit up every space she entered.

From the moment she first stepped into a studio at just 2 years old, Hallie’s love for dance was unmistakable. But her passion went beyond movement — she saw the dance world not only for its beauty, but also its flaws. She became deeply aware of the emotional toll it could take, especially regarding mental health and body image. Hallie never looked away from these truths. Instead, she met them head-on, determined to create change.

After navigating her own journey with body dysmorphia, Hallie emerged with a fierce sense of purpose. At just 18, she set out to build something extraordinary — a dance space where no student would ever feel less than enough. Through hard work, grace, and unwavering dedication, she founded Ignite Dance Space in Corby, Northamptonshire, enrolling 77 students before the first class was even set to begin.

However, on September 12th, 2023 — just days before her dream came to life — Hallie’s journey was tragically cut short in a road traffic collision. Her passing shook the hearts of all who knew her. And yet, her spirit, her vision, and her impact refused to be silenced.

The Ignite Impact Foundation now carries that vision forward — not just as a dance initiative, but as a movement shaped by Hallie’s values: compassion, honesty, inclusion, and strength. Her legacy calls us to break the silence around mental health in the arts, and to create spaces where everyone — dancer or not — can feel safe, supported, and seen.

Through this work, we honour Hallie — not just for what she started, but for who she was. And who she’ll always be to us.

Bella Denison-Foster
Musical Theatre Teacher
"I have been working at IGNITE for nearly a year. I teach musical theatre and one to one singing privates. I cannot express how much I love teaching and how much I look forward to my Saturdays with my talented kids. Emma and the team have made me feel so welcome and I know that they will always be like family. It was always a goal of mine to be able to do what I love but to be able to teach it and give my ideas to different people around me makes me so happy and honoured. In IGNITES first show, I was lucky enough to sing the “IGNITE” song dedicated to our beautiful Hallie. It meant the world to not only sing at the show but to see my girls so passionate about their songs and dances which me and Lara had created. IGNITE has taught me so much, it has taught me to always be myself and to be grateful for every moment I get in life. And too my beautiful Hallie, I know you’re going to be looking down with pride watching all your students and faculty members shine. We miss you so much but you never ever will be forgotten and your legacy will always live on. I’m so proud of what you have done to make IGNITE shine so much everything I do is for you. Love you halls ❤️"
